I want it high enough so the kids can’t reach it. Seems like I’ve seen them in displays or at the mall – how much trouble would this be and how do I do it?

It is much easier to mount if you can make a rod with the plane on one end and a small heavy weight on the other so it is balanced. Then the hanging is just that a rod, wire or string that is fastened to a hook in the ceiling without any side-to-side strength required. If the thing is just to be up there and change position if you brush it or a fan blows it, then the swivel used in fishing line, which comes in different sizes, is an easy way to leave something free to move even if mounted to a stiff wire.
If you want it to go round and round on its own, either the model has to have a motor and batteries to turn the propeller or you have to buy a battery powered motor designed to be hung which you may be able to get at a store decor place – that is a store that sells the hardware designed to display items in a store – in this case a rotator that might cause a blouse on a hanger to turn around near the ceiling to attract the eye.
