The Gimli Glider, Cactus 1549, Air Transat 236 those and others didn’t actually land safely after gliding with no engines. Get your facts straight. An airplane can glide for a considerable distance from a cruising altitude if it has lost all engine power. You don’t need thrust to maintain speed. All you need is altitude.
